NAGSASA COVE

On New Year’s Eve, as I reflected on my past year, I realised that there was so much more I could have done with my free time after graduating. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t regret anything that happened in 2014 because it was wonderful, I just feel like I could have pushed myself to do more. As 2015 rolled in and I went about my usual bumming ways, I made a decision to put an end to unproductive days. I’ve made goals for myself for each month of the year and hopefully (with a little help from my friends) I keep myself on track.

One thing I promised myself I would do this is year is to travel and I decided that while I have not acquired a full-time job, the smartest thing to do would be to start with our own country!

Tali

A spontaneous sleep over turned spontaneous beach trip with my best friend. We literally woke up at 10am and decided to go to the beach for the day! It was the best way to end the first month of the year.

Switzerland

Stop number 2. Preparing for Europe, I was told that the weather wasn’t going to be that bad. Baguio weather they said, and they couldn’t have been more wrong. I was freezing! I didn’t exactly bring the right type of clothes because when I was packing, everyone was saying “Oh it’s not going to be that cold” or “No don’t bring those boots, it’s spring”. Walking to the airport parking lot, I had flashbacks of all the clothes I could have but did not bring!

We flew from Dublin to Geneva at around 6am Saturday morning, and then from there took our promoter’s gorgeous van all the way to Zurich. Saturday night was dad’s show, which was amazing as always. And on Sunday we were all finally able to rest. I’m not even joking, I only left my bed for breakfast, lunch, and bathroom breaks and of course dinner.

In Lucerne/Luzern.

Dublin

As expected, my body clock is officially messed up. I guess it's okay though because with Labor Day weekend coming up, who knows when I'm actually going to be able to get on the computer again. Oh, Dublin. I think the reason why I haven’t gotten over Dublin is because it was the city we spent the least time in. We got there on Thursday, the show was on Friday, and we left Saturday morning for Switzerland. I was able to go around a little bit on Friday before the show but it definitely wasn’t enough. Driving around, I fell in love with the small vintage boutiques, the street art, and the architecture in the city. I really do feel terrible that we weren’t really able to explore but I’m excited because that just means we have to go back someday soon!

Looking extra faded after getting off the nearly 24-hour trip from Manila to Dublin.

Surf's Up

Before the dreaded goodbyes to those who live abroad, my cousins and I decided it would be a great idea to head to La Union. You know, roadtrip, waves, a few beers, and family time. It was definitely one of the best beach trips of my life.
